Dimples Rawrrrr

Smiles. Dimples. Smiles. Laughter. Rawrrrrr..

Touching Feet

Rolling over Once your baby has head control, and about the same time that he learns to sit on his own, he'll learn to roll over. He'll eventually learn to flip over from his back to his tummy and vice versa, and he'll use his newfound skill to get around a bit. The incentive for those early rolls is often an elusive toy — or you.

When it develops Your baby may be able to kick himself over, from his tummy to his back, as early as age 2 to 3 months. It may take him until he's about 5 or 6 months to flip from back to front, though, because he needs stronger neck and arm muscles for that maneuver.

How it develops At about 3 months, when placed on his stomach, your baby will lift his head and shoulders high, using his arms for support. This mini-pushup helps him strengthen the muscles he'll use to roll over. He'll amaze you (and himself!) the first time he flips over. (While babies often flip from front to back first, doing it the other way is perfectly normal, too.)

At 5 months your baby will probably be able to lift his head, push up on his arms, and arch his back to lift his chest off the ground. He may even rock on his stomach, kick his legs, and swim with his arms. All these exercises help him develop the muscles he needs to roll over in both directions — likely by the time he's about 6 months old.

While some babies adopt rolling as their primary mode of ground transportation for a while, others skip it altogether and move on to sitting, lunging, and crawling. As long as your child continues to gain new skills and shows interest in getting around and exploring his environment, don't worry.

Aduka can roll over, turned 360degrees in his sleep and while he is playing in his playpen, held his feet and pulled it into his mouth. Please don't grow up too fast.

The first time Aduka had shoes on was the day we decided to let him try on his new shoes. Although slightly loose, he still fits in some of them. Clumsy at first but smashing soon after.

At a distant relative's wedding. The day he had boat shoes on.
He just woke up from his nap. SmoochiePuffFace Aduka.

Wobbly head with Daddy's hat on. He could not keep still. Playful little fella.

Five Months Old

Our dear little spaceboy has a new hobby. Not too long ago, he started growling, possibly like a lion cub or maybe, just maybe, like a baby monster.  At first it sounded like he was upset with something and was on the brink of tears, but it turned out, he was just having his own little fun. His Daddy, growls along with him, to see who growls the loudest. Each time Daddy growls, Aduka growls even louder and adorably scary. He can growl in between his cries or while he sucks his fingers. Grrrrr, he growls, like a baby monster. Grrrr, he growls, as he sucks his fingers. Grrr, he growls, as he drools. Grrrr, he growls as we have him in our arms. Grrr, he growls, as he was playing with his toys. Grrrrr, he growls, as he smiles at us cheekily. Grrrr, he growls, as he lay on his stomach. Grrrr, he growls, right before he falls asleep.

Dear Aduka,
You are our greatest gift from God. You brighten up our lives, put a smile on our faces regardless of how depleted we are, and you inspire us. Our little cuddly bear. Our muse.

7kg.

Happy five months baby!

Doppler Effect And Sonic Boom

Why Doppler effect? Because my mother-in-law bought an outfit for Aduka and it's red stripes overalls :) The outfit is pretty cute. It adds colour to Aduka. As his parents, we love colours, queer part was, we tend to buy baby outfits that is in the black and white category. We have mad love for them and its style, plus we think it looks really good on our baby and make him look stylishly manly. (Strangers think he looks like a girl, so no colours!) I think Aduka is just a sweet little thang, especially when he flashes his killer smile. Smiley dimpley boy.

Dear Aduka,
We put you up at Oma's since we had to work. I wonder how you are doing right now. Will you cry to be carried? Will you whine to be talked to? Will you make funny noises everytime we leave you to play with your jiggly toys? Mommy and Daddy miss you terribly today. We miss kissing all over your whole face and irritate you. We miss shaking your legs. We miss hugging you. We miss your smell. And most of all, we miss your smile.

Sleeping Aduka in Mommy's arms. Wearing the cute outfit that Nanny bought.
His hands are held together most of the time. Like a little thinker.

Hands Together

One, two, buckle my shoe
Three, four, knock at the door
Five, six, pick up sticks
Seven, eight, lay them straight
Nine, ten, a big fat hen
Eleven, twelve, dig and delve.

Our little duke, he grasp his hands together all the time. He does that in his sleep, he does it after every shower as we get him ready, he does it when we pushed him in his buggy, he does it when we carry him, the only time he does not haven them together is when he cries. His way of seeking inspiration perhaps?

Happy Valentine's

Dear Aduka,
It was your first Valentines, what a day for our beautiful baby. We spent loads of quality time with you, singing rhymes, storytelling, laughing, snapping pictures, hugging you and showering you with lots of kisses. The good thing is, you seemed oblivious to our kisses, looking innocently at us with those big eyes everytime we kissed your cheeks. Oh you are so adorable. We placed you on your stomach and you cried after a while. Tired I presumed. Rolled to your side and you smiled. I held Mr Blue (little denim bear with bells in his tummy) in front of you and shake it so you can hear the bells. You love it and tried to reach out, kicking your legs in excitement. Daddy as usual, always disturb you, but he made you laughed out loud. Cute. The first time you laughed out loud, made us very happy. A palpable delight. It happens when your first child does things for the first time. One day, you will understand when you have one of your own. We snapped pictures of you to capture these moments. To remember the days we made you smile and you, made us feel like there was no tomorrow.

Happy.

Still happy.

Once you suck your fingers, its a sign you are bored for being on
your stomach too long which was a mere five minutes actually.

Showing signs of boredom.

Rolled over and back to being happy.

Still happy.

Four Month Old Spaceboy

Aduka turned four! Hip hip hooray!
*confettis*fireworks*kisses*hugs*unconditional love*
The day Aduka became more vocal and even crankier when he is restless. He screams louder for fun, his babytalk is on its rise, he has grown more attune to his surroundings, he can turn over sideways when he is on his stomach and he knows we are recording him.

He stops when he sees Mommy recording him.

Little Bubbles

One little, two little, three little bubbles, Four little, five little, six little bubbles, Seven little, eight little, nine little bubbles, Ten little bubbles go pop, pop, pop!

Mommy getting Aduka ready for the day after his morning bath. Notice the chest? Cute!
Mommy loves round babies.

Our Little Eskimo

Vivocity. Cold. Sleepy baby. We went out with Aduka's Oma (Mommy's mom) and his handsome cousins, Aniq and Adam. Had dinner, went to Starhub to exchange a faulty cable box, hang out at the sky garden for a short while, walked around and called it a day. Sad to say it was a pretty short outing, nevertheless we enjoyed spending time with the family. We always do. Am I right Aduka? We didn't take much photos but we will the next time we hang out with them again. Soon.

Dear Aduka,
You are learning to turn over while you lay on your stomach. With much practise, you will be able to accomplish it with finesse.

He does look like he has no neck *chuckles* oh well he is just chubby so the neck is not obvious.
And in this picture, his shirt went up a few centimetres off his shoulders
explaining the high shoulders ya :) It happens when he is in his buggy.
Shirt - a present from Mommy Rina. Thanks babe!

Clumsy Spaceboy

Dear Aduka,
Nowadays, entertaining yourself everytime we put you in your playpen is to grab your pillows, throw it and grabbing it back only if it is within your reach. Gone were those days when you would cry out to be talked to, minutes after we left you alone. A few times you grab your pacifier, pull it out of your mouth and threw it away. Although that goes to show, you have better gripping action now, some events were probably accidental. Your ideas were there but your execution can be pretty taxing what with little control of them hands. At least that is how it looks to us. There was probably a few occasions when you fell asleep on Mommy's shoulder and just when I was putting you down in your cot, you held on to me tightly. Seems like someone is getting too comfortable being carried. A great development I must say but I still put you in the cot anyways. Oh you cried but fell asleep soon after *smiles*

Aduka focusing on his hanging mobile and
tried reaching out to grab it clumsily.

From Feeding Kois To Hooded Jackets

Another one of those random days again. We planned to jog but took a walk instead from Lavender, along Kallang River to the Singapore flyer. Suffice to say, it wasn't too bad little boy. It took a mere 20 minutes to walk with our pace while pushing the stroller. Stopping by once in a while to check out what's new beyond the horizon. The whole stretch has changed a lot. With a revamped Marina Bay, we can see Marina barrage. But apart from that, the rest of the used to be forgotten land is still not ready to be unveiled yet with the other half still under construction. Such an eye sore but anything for the sake of its bright future. And just when you are about to realise you have had too much sun, we have touched down at the flyer. A cool place we have yet to explore together. Looking for food was pretty convenient, what with lots of restaurants and POPEYES around. (We love POPEYES!) Took a walk around the area, checking out the fountain of wealth or so they say, planning to feed the kois but had no one dollar coins to dispense the fish food, snapping pictures incessantly for your journal so we can look back, smile and say, " We kick ass!" HAHA ok Mommy can get carried away sometimes.

It was very cold in the shopping mall so we let Aduka wear his jacket.
Mommy and Daddy was freezing.

Spaceboy and Sandcastles

Dear Aduka,
What do we do on a Sunday?
Wriggle our toes in the sand, smell the sea and enjoy the sun. One of those days we randomly decided to go to the beach with our little munchkin, you :) It was a sunny day, you squint in the sun but did not complain. That is good and you know it. And when you have learnt to walk, we shall do so by the beach with you in between us, swinging you as we walk along the shore.

Maternal Love, Like Orange Tree, Buds, Blossoms and Bears At Once

Dear Aduka,
Today, you went to the doctor and had your immunisation jab. One of many to come I must say. Unlike your last jab, your reaction was not as bad as Mommy and Daddy anticipated. You held on to me smiling just as the nurse was giving you your shot. You shifted a little at first, confused with the pain on your right thigh and cried out loud. A tearful cry to say the least. I put you on my shoulder and you calmed down, still sobbing softly. I whispered soothing words to calm you down while I pat your back lightly. Your sobbing ceased but once in a while you cry out, tearless, telling us you are upset about the pain in your thigh. Oh we know baby, but it will go away quickly. At night, you kept crying and looked uncomfortable so Daddy took your temperature. A whopping 37.5degrees. A slight fever. An apparent normality after the immunisation. We gave you medicine prescribed by the doctor in case you experience a fever within the next twentyfour hours after your jab. You looked confused, a taste so foreign, basically your first medicine taken orally. It wasn't nice I know but it will make you feel better. So I fed you afterwards and you fell asleep as soon as you finished your milk. Sleeping soundly, I can hear you breathing softly. A fever that lasts only for a short while, I hope. You still need monitoring, in case the fever comes again. With moonbeams in hands and stardust in your eyes, we love you baby.

The Duke goes boxing everyday.

Still boxing.

Rattling Socks and Mittens

Spaceboy's Attraction To Black & White
Today, we let Aduka try out his new rattling socks and mittens, to give him something different to play with. Needless to say, Aduka seems uninterested and totally distracted by his surroundings. He loves to explore but lets give him more time to get use to the new toys. Like other babies, once he sees them as we rattle the toys in front of him, he will look at it, analyze, absorb, try to reach out to it (he is still trying to control and maneuvre his hands and grip action) and if he likes it, he will start talking and smiling, if he does not, he will show boredom with his tearless cry that probably says, "Please please please take this away from me." So dramatic.
